All of my mixed media work is comprised of little bits of paper, large strips of paper, sometimes some plastic cast-offs such as caps and wires and other ‘refuse’ from a variety of different sources, combined to create images that are (for the most part) dimensional in nature and sealed in an epoxy-resin. Paint, and underlying drawings aside, I strive to maintain focus on the use of these various materials to bring forth images that are abstractions of universalities and emotions. Most of this work focuses on cosmic imagery, mixed with mythology and related themes. The images below truly do not do most of this work justice, as it is hard to photograph due to the highly reflective (and therefore glare prone) nature of the epoxy finish. The quality and visual appeal with most of these pieces will shift, depending on the lighting, due to use of other highly reflective and refractive materials including metallic papers and glittery imbeddings. They are large scale (~24x48” on average) and one of kind, nearly impossible to reproduce.
