If you like what you see, most of my work can be printed on any number of different products, from mugs to calendars, as well as the usual - original, one of kind art, limited prints, and of course, commissions.
To create art is to breathe life into an idea; to give form to what was once formless.
Greetings:
I have been creating “art” for over 40 years. I have been creating Fine Art for over 20. For the last 10, most of it has managed to be reasonably palatable to the eyes.
I think that it is hard to make a claim on any image that is beautiful, just by virtue of having rendered it, or having selected it, having captured it, or otherwise, but I have been told that it is important to do so - to stake a claim on the beauty that I have not only beheld, but that I have hopefully rendered with fidelity to the universal truths and aesthetics that are the source of my inspiration.
I could spend a lot of time, waxing philosophical about who I am and the divine inspiration that drives the creation of my work, in order to appeal to the pretenses of what we all expect artists to embody. But I won’t. I have tried many times to attempt to pontificate about the depth or philosophy of my work, however all those attempts have fallen insincere upon my own ears. So here is the short and sweet of it:
I make things because I like to. Because it gives me joy. Because it gives me an excuse to explore ideas and feelings that are outside the scope of the banality of my ordinary day. And some people have told me that the things I make are enjoyable to look at. Some people have bought the things that I have made. Some people have been surprised at the very idea that ‘I’ was the person who made those things, because those things are a joyful and colorful detour from the person that they otherwise believed that they knew. The boring old lady. The curmudgeon.
A boring old lady made these things. A curmudgeon brought forth these spritely and colorful images from a multitude of different media, different subject matter, different inspiration. Here you will find, the output of some old spinsterly gal who decides each day to put aside her grievances with the world and instead, pick away at something more delicate, something lively. Sometimes, something even hopeful.
